Remember when flash drives first came out? It was a genuine revolution. However, flash drives seem to have become the 21st century equivalent of key chains. When you are working a trade show, there’s a good chance that you have seen baskets of flash drives that are given out as promotional gifts. However, with a capacity of around 32MB, these drives are not good for much. That does not mean that all flash drives are equally useless, though.
Modern flash drives have higher capacities, some upward of 32GB, which is more than enough to hold the most elaborate presentations with room to spare. And if you are concerned about security, there are many flash drives that offer military-grade encryption so that no one but you can access the information contained within. These security-minded flash drives will even “self-destruct” if too many unsuccessful attempts to access the information are made, erasing the information and making the drive useless.
